Avandia Should be Pulled, FDA Scientist Says

• 43 percent more at risk for heart attack
• 64 percent more at risk of death from cardiovascular disease

Avandia is produced by the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, which revenues about $3.2 billion each year from its sales of Avandia. When the CEO of GlaxoSmithKline was confronted on the matter, he simply stated that the public’s concern with the drug was just an “overreaction”.
